Home of The Serenity Project, An Experience Through Dance
Welcome to the 2015-2016 Season of Dance at Leaps & Bounds Sports Center! By choosing to place your child in a physical activity, you have taken a giant leap forward in teaching your child to live a healthy life style. By choosing dance, you have shown great appreciation for poise, grace, strength, and determination. Below are just a few of the amazing benefits you & your child will receive.
1.) Improved Overall Health: Regular dance classes will enhance your flexibility, strength, range of motion, & stamina. Dance classes are an excellent way to correct poor posture and improve your cardiovascular health in both young and matured students.
2.) Socialization: Dance is an excellent way to develop skills in communication. Students work together as a team to pull the choreography together. Dancers also develop higher self esteem and overcome fears of presenting themselves to others.
3.) Educational: All forms of dance require discipline, dedication, and self reliance in order to improve and succeed. This lesson rings true throughout our lives. Regular dance classes are a perfect way to instill not only a sense of accomplishment, but also a realization that hard work and focus are what is needed to be a healthy and responsible adult.
Thank you for allowing us to be apart of your family’s life!

Ballet: Did you know, Ballet was founded by King Louis the 14th in Paris, France way back in the 1600’s? Ballet is the back bone of all forms of dance. Dancers will learn proper technique, terminology, poise, and discipline. Ballet is not only a beautiful art form, but students will learn skills that will stick with them for life. Dancers ages 12 & up will have the opportunity to begin pointe after teacher recommendation.
Tap: Learn how to make music with your feet! Tap first began during the Blues and Jazz craze of the early 1900’s. Dancers began using their feet to create rhythm with small pieces of metal attached to the toe and heel of their shoes. Today, you can see tap performed during many live performances such as Broadway musicals and even on “America’s Got Talent”!
Jazz : “And all…..that……jazz!” Learn how to move and grove in an upbeat and exciting environment. Dancers will learn combinations similar to those seen on “So You Think You Can Dance.” Dancers will also learn basic acrobatic skills and partner stunts.
Hip Hop (1st Grade & Up): Pop & Lock Your Way To The Top! Learn all the latest dance crazes including stunts, stall, and how to let it all go and just DANCE!
Lyrical: Lyrical is a form of ballet that allows the dancer to really connect to the music to tell the story. Lyrical uses cues from the lyrics of the music to act out the scene. Perfect for students interested in all forms of theatre and performing arts.
Preschool Ballet, Tap, & Tumbling: Perfect for beginners! Students are introduced to basic ballet and tap skills through familiar songs and rhymes by connecting movement to the words. Each child will also participate in basic tumbling exercises such as front rolls, back rolls, handstands, and cartwheels.
